A week-long annual cultural festival has begun at Jagannath University. The festival was inaugurated in the morning with a colorful procession. The procession starts from the main gate of the campus, goes around the Sadarghat area and comes back to the campus.
The organizers said that this year more than 40 cultural and social organizations of the university are participating in the festival. Every afternoon there will be music, drama and recitations at the open stage. Apart from this, there will be an exhibition of paintings by the students of the art department.
Students are excited
A first year student said this is his first big festival after coming to the campus. The entire campus has taken a new look.
Along with studies, cultural activities make students as complete human beings.
On the last day of the festival, awards will be given for the best performances in various categories, the organizing committee said.
